Like many young Africans who have developed in Western countries before returning to their roots, I felt an imperative desire to explore my roots deeply and rediscover the natural gems that our continent, with its immeasurable wealth, has to offer. My aspiration goes beyond mere curiosity; it revolves around a quest for authenticity, purity, and well-being.
In an era where consumption has become complex and often devoid of meaning, I nurtured the desire to turn to products inherently rooted in simplicity, integrity, and respect for our precious environment.
My journey naturally led me to Côte d’Ivoire, a fertile ground where natural resources abound and where local craftsmanship reflects the very essence of our cultural identity. It is here that Mafifi was born, embodying the heart of my aspiration to merge pleasure, well-being, and responsibility. Delighting in local, natural, and unique products quickly turned into a personal celebration of the richness and diversity of our heritage.

Stefan Lakic
Embarking on the journey of discovering and appreciating the allure of Africa has been a captivating odyssey for me. My story begins in the vibrant city of Belgrade, Serbia, where my passion for visual storytelling ignited during my formative years. As a diligent student, I excelled in the intricacies of film and TV camera work, paving my path to a scholarship that transported me to Germany, where I pursued a Master’s degree in Digital Media.
During my time in Germany, the dynamic landscape of digital media beckoned me to broaden my horizons. Delving into realms such as app design, web development, and user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, I absorbed invaluable insights that would shape my future endeavors. These experiences instilled within me a deep-seated appreciation for the transformative power of technology in shaping our world.
However, it was the allure of Africa that ultimately captured my heart. Drawn by its enchanting landscapes, rich cultural tapestry, and the warmth of its people, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the Ivory Coast. Here, amidst the stunning vistas and bustling cities, I discovered a canvas ripe with potential for innovation and growth.
